Mawson Resources (TSX: MAW) CEO Michael Hudson: “We Hit What We’ve Been Looking For”
Gerardo Del Real: This is Gerardo Del Real with Resource Stock Digest. Joining me today is Chairman and CEO of Mawson Resources (TSX: MAW)(OTC: MWSNF), Mr. Michael Hudson.
Michael, good morning or good evening where you're at.
Michael Hudson: Absolutely. Good evening, Gerardo, nice to be back.
Gerardo Del Real: It's good to have you on. I appreciate you coming on on such short notice. You just put out a news release that's pretty exciting stuff. You drilled 8.8 meters of 7.5 grams per tonne in Finland. You also had an intercept of 27 meters at 3.3 grams per tonne gold, starting at 64 meters in an area that's about 1.75 kilometers from Palokas. So can you provide the details for us because this is pretty exciting news.
Michael Hudson: Absolutely, Gerardo. We've been drilling, we threw caution to the wind, we've had four diamond rigs and a base of till rig drilling for the past four months. We've only released 50% of the drill results so far, we've been snaking around the system we've been defining has been growing at all sides. We have been expanding this system over multiple kilometers and now bang, we hit what we've been looking for. That result you mentioned was the highest grade hit that we've hit outside the Palokas zone. It's another high-grade shoot, it's very different in style to what we've found at Palokas. It's 1.75 kilometers away but the rocks are different. So it's a multiple forming system that we'd seen from indications on shallower drilling and at surface, but the grade is there. It's another zone developing and there'll be more of these zones.
Remember 99% of the area is under cover so it's a drill exercise, and this is pretty impressive. This system, it's living up to our expectations and those of our supporters I think.
Gerardo Del Real: Absolutely, so what's the next step? You mentioned that 50% of the assays are still pending. When do you anticipate receiving those, Mike?
Michael Hudson: That will be coming over the next month or so, Gerardo. I think I mentioned to you in the last time we spoke that we've got a cacophony of core and just with four rigs going, and managing that, and we had a large staff working literally 24-7 trying to get through it all.
Now the rigs have just stopped, that's another part of the news that the end of the winter has come. All geological hands and support hands can go to the core, so over the next month or so we should see all the rest of those results come through.
Gerardo Del Real: Excellent, well it should be an exciting month. I noticed that you've assayed 28 holes, or 28 have been reported and we're waiting on assays on an additional 26. If they're anything like this, should be fun, Mike.
Michael Hudson: We'll see, Gerardo. Gold is where you find it, they say. But when you find it, it feels good.
