Golden Arrow Resources Corp (CVE:GRG) said it was excited by the results from its exploration program on the Antofalla silver-gold-base metal project in Catamarca Province, Argentina, which has identified several new “high-potential targets”.

Eye-catching was a channel sample grading 281 grams per tonne (g/t) of silver and 0.5% lead over 3.35 metres and another over eight-metres at 168 g/t of silver.

The mineralization was found 380-metres south-west of the Colorada target, where previous operators found high grade silver alongside lead and gold minerlization.

From the newly discovered Domos Norte target came rock chip samples grading 3.87 g/t gold, 146 g/t silver and 1% lead and 0.14 g/t gold, 4,404 g/t silver and greater than 30% lead. Also uncovered was 134 g/t silver over 0.80-metres in chip channel samples.

Strong geological similarities to Chinchillas...

The 8,760-hectare Antofalla Project has strong geologic similarities to the company's flagship Chinchillas silver project, which has a positive pre-feasibility study for development.

The four-kilometre by five-kilometre volcanic dome complex and alteration zone hosts several areas of known mineralization, but was underexplored by previous operators.

Since starting the program, the Golden Arrow’s geological team has carried out grassroots exploration across the property, which unearthed the latest encouraging results.

"Not since our first months at the Chinchillas project has the team been so excited about the potential for a significant discovery,” said Brian McEwen, the company’s vice-president of exploration and development.
