Hitting Gold-Silver in Arizona & Targeting Gold-Copper in Mexico… All Below C$20M Market Cap

Aztec Minerals (TSX-V: AZT)(OTC: AZZTF) — currently trading around C$0.28 per share — has released assays for an additional four holes from its now-completed Phase-2 drill program at the flagship Tombstone gold-silver JV project, Arizona, further confirming the extension of mineralization below the Contention Pit.

Highlights include:

  • 1.73 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 56.2 g/t silver (or 2.53 g/t gold equivalent “AuEq”) over 64 meters; including:

                        • 6.46 g/t gold and 274 g/t silver (or 10.37 g/t AuEq) over 3 meters; and

                        • 4.08 g/t gold and 59.4 g/t silver (or 4.93 g/t AuEq) over 10.7 meters

Assays are pending on the remaining 5 holes of the 23 hole program.

Importantly, all four holes reported in this week’s press release intersected near-surface, oxidized gold-silver mineralization with each hole bottoming in mineralization. That means, in all likelihood, mineralization continues at-depth, which is something the Aztec team will be keen to explore in upcoming drill rounds.

Additionally, at the company’s Cervantes gold-copper JV project in Sonora, Mexico, the Aztec team has been hard at work completing an extensive surface sampling program with plans for a 5,000 meter drill program to follow up on its 2018 discovery at the California Zone.

That forthcoming drill program is subject to a new round of financing but shows that Aztec is far from a one-trick pony… not bad for a junior explorer with a sub-C$20 million market cap.

My colleague Gerardo Del Real of Junior Resource Monthly — who recently sat down with Aztec CEO Simon Dyakowski to go over the latest batch of drill results — has been delivering all the key insights on Aztec’s multi-property exploration efforts at both the Tombstone gold-silver project in Arizona and the Cervantes gold-copper project in Sonora, Mexico. Mike Fagan has mining in his blood. As a teenager he staked countless gold and silver properties in Nevada alongside his dad, Brian Fagan, who created the Prospect Generator model that’s still widely used today in the resource space. One of those staking projects was put into production by a major Canadian mining company — a truly rare and profitable experience. That background uniquely qualifies him as a mining stock speculator. One of the most well-known names in the business, Mike is now putting that experience to use for the benefit of Resource Stock Digest readers.
