Mawson Resources (TSX: MAW) CEO Michael Hudson on Latest Assays that Highlight the Continuity of High-Grade Gold at the Raja Prospect
Gerardo Del Real: This is Gerardo Del Real with Resource Stock Digest. Joining me today is Chairman and CEO of Mawson Resources (TSX: MAW)(OTC: MWNSF), Mr. Michael Hudson. Mike, how are you sir?
Michael Hudson: As always, top of the world, Gerardo.
Gerardo Del Real: Well another day, another good news release from Mawson. This time you drilled 4 meters of 17.7 grams per tonne gold. You also have thousands of gold and cobalt assays pending. I would love to talk about the numbers behind today's release. You announced five new drill holes. I want touch on a bit, the continuity and the depth, because it's important for this particular prospect here. What can you share with us, Mike?
Michael Hudson: Well, we basically put that number out, Gerardo, which was one of five new holes that we released, that were from three different prospects. They all hit anomalous gold greater than 1 meter at 1 gram, just for the stats. Everything we've drilled we're seeing gold in, but the key results came from two projects, Raja – actually I should say all the key results came from Raja itself, which is a project in the southeastern corner.
It's really stacking up wonderfully. We're seeing that body now that we've drilled during that winter program. The results are continuing to come back. We're seeing a 400-meter down plunge extension. It's open. It continues further beyond what we see. We know there's an electromagnetic conductor that we've modeled, and we can see that down to 900 meters, and that's the limit of the technology.
But interestingly now, not only are we seeing this along or down plunge extension, we're seeing the along strike extensions also. So that result you talked about, 4 meters at almost 18 grams per tonne, was 40 meters west of a result that we saw released earlier this year, a few months ago, which was 31.7 meters at 8.4 grams, so we've seen wonderful continuity across over 100 meters of strike in that body.
None of these results have had the cobalt results yet, which we hope, and we'll wait to see the results. We'll add to the gold. If we look at what's happened earlier in the cobalt numbers that we got back, they had 20 to 30% increase in situ value to rock or in gold equivalent. So a work in progress that's looking very encouraging.
Gerardo Del Real: Lots of assays still pending, cobalt and gold, correct?
Michael Hudson: Yeah, we've got over 3,000 cobalt assays that are in the lab or going into the lab for re-assays, where we've only assayed gold over the last couple of years, so there's thousands of cobalt assays. Then we've released about 30% of our results from the winter program.
We put out some of the better holes, first up, because that's the nature of what we wanted to assay first, but there's still a lot of results pending, and we look forward to releasing those over the coming months also.
Gerardo Del Real: Excellent, what does the rest of the year look like drilling wise, Mike?
Michael Hudson: We want to be back drilling with two types of drill rigs, a base of till drill rig, which tests below the thin glacial till over large areas. We drilled over a thousand holes during the last winter program that finished a few weeks ago. Those data, that information, will be coming to market also soon. So we want to continue with that base of till drilling.
Then the other type of drilling we want to continue with, of course, is diamond drilling. We look to be going back in August, I'd suspect, drilling some of those areas where we can only test during the summer where it's drier and where we're permitted to drill, which is approximately 80% of our larger exploration claims. So drilling to continue soon.
Gerardo Del Real: Fantastic, Mike, anything else you'd like to add?
Michael Hudson: No, I think we hit the key points in a quick interview here. Continuity, grade, scale.
Gerardo Del Real: Perfect.
Michael Hudson: It's all coming together.
Gerardo Del Real: Excellent. Mike, thank you so much for your time.
Michael Hudson: Thank you, Gerardo.
