T2 Metals (TSX-V: TWO)(OTC: TWOSF) CEO Mark Saxon on Drills Turning at Aurora

Gerardo Del Real: This is Gerardo Del Real with Resource Stock Digest. Joining me today is the very busy President and CEO of T2 Metals (TSX-V: TWO)(OTC: TWOSF), Mr. Mark Saxon. Mark, exciting times. We have gold back above $4,400, we have silver above $65. Looks to be momentum back into the precious metal space. And you just announced something that's been 15 years in the making. You are drilling at the Aurora Gold Silver Project in the Yukon. Congrats on getting to this point. Can you speak to it a bit?

Mark Saxon: Absolutely. And then as you mentioned there, we're seeing record copper, we're seeing gold bouncing back, we're seeing silver moving up again. And so yeah, it's a great time for us to be out there and generating news flow and testing a new project, like you said. And yeah, 15 years in the making, but really the last drilling program was very small. This is a very large project, the Aurora Project, and it's only had 3,000 meters of drilling in its entire history, which is quite amazing. And so we've got a great runway of work that we have completed and we're now moving into the drilling phase, which is exciting on Aurora and Shanghai comes next, so we've got two great assets in the Yukon.

Gerardo Del Real: Let's start with Aurora, and then I want to pivot to Shanghai, but can you speak to the target? Because you are in elephant country. I mean, this is a region that is hyper fertile for discoveries and deposits. And you can look at a map and just kind of zoom out a bit and just see the number of companies that have made significant discoveries nearby. Can you speak to the geological context on what the target is?

Mark Saxon: Yeah, absolutely. So the project is in the Tombstone Gold Belt, which is a very fertile system in central northern Yukon. So our project, the Aurora project, is about 30 minutes by helicopter from Dawson City. So it's not remote. We can drive within three kilometers of the project, and so when we do the drilling, we can use a lay down area beside a road and fly onto the project and drop all the gear there. So it's not a crazy remote project, which is great. But this Tombstone Gold Belt is one where all of the big recent discoveries have been found. So you can look at Sitka, you can look at Snowline, you can look at the Eagle Project, you can look at Banyan, all of them are related to the same style of intrusions coming into sedimentary rocks. And as they come in, they're kind of like porphyry targets, I guess, but a little bit different. And they come in and drop all the gold into the country rock that sits around the intrusion.

And so we have at Aurora, one of these intrusive plugs coming in. We know over a huge area, we've got lots and lots of gold prospects. We've got high grade gold over 10 kilometers of strike that sits around the margin of this intrusive body. And so we've got a whole bunch of targets to test there. We've got soil samples that show gold. We've got high grade rock ships. We've got some geophysics. We've just completed LiDAR that helps us with targeting and structure. And so now the missing piece is the drilling. And so we're using a company called Ground Truth, which is the company that's owned by Sean Ryan and Cathie Wood, the two vendors of the project. And most people will know Sean and Cathie's names in the Yukon. So they're the ones giving us support. And so now it's just sort of pointing at the ground and starting to drill. So yeah, the missing piece, really exciting.

Gerardo Del Real: Initial program I understand is 20 holes for 1,400 meters. Is that accurate?

Mark Saxon: Yeah, I think we'll probably drill a little bit less than that in the end because we're sort of juggling between the two projects, Aurora and Shanghai. But yeah, we're pushing as hard as we can on the two projects to make sure we get lots of data generated before the end of the season. And so yeah, we're balancing that. But the rigs on site, the rig is turning and progressing well. So yeah, we'll do the best we can in terms of the time we've got.

Gerardo Del Real: Excellent. Let's talk about Shanghai. What's going to be the approach there? Similar approach, I take it?

Mark Saxon: Yeah, similar approach. Yeah, we're soon to start diamond drilling on that project there as well. So we'll have both the RAB drilling, the same as what we're doing at Aurora and diamond drilling at the same time. And we're doing field programs at the moment, rocks and soils and mapping to identify the best places to drill. At Shanghai, we're only three kilometers from the 8 million ounce project, which is Banyan Gold, they're AurMac project. And so again, we've got great infrastructure nearby where we're only a 10-minute flight from Banyan or even less. And so very easy for us to be based in Mayo, in the local town, and fly out and do that work. And so very easy project to manage.

The beauty of what we have at Shanghai is that it's kind of a mirror image project. So on the south side of the McQuesten River, we've got 8 million ounces of Banyan. On the north side of the river, we've got the Shanghai project with zero drill holes at all. Never been a drill hole on the project in its history. And so yeah, we're doing the first program and that will be starting very soon as well. So yeah, very easy targets to support geologically on that site. Plus we've got high grade gold and high grade silver at surface. So yeah, it sells itself. It's one that doesn't need too much pushing. And yeah, so we'll have two drill rigs turning on the same time on that project very soon.

Gerardo Del Real: Well, listen, Banyan, along with several other companies in the region, obviously have had a heck of a run over the past several years. If you can duplicate that in any kind of fashion, given your tiny market cap, I think it's going to be a heck of a second half of the year for shareholders and a really, really exciting 2027. Anything to add to that, Mark?

Mark Saxon: No, I'm loving the Yukon and yeah, we've got a great team and it's great to work in a place where the whole industry and community supports each other. And we've been very welcomed by other companies. We've been very welcomed by drilling companies and contractors and everybody that comes to support because it's a frontier kind of district. There's big things to find. And yeah, it's really exciting to be part of that story up there.

Gerardo Del Real: Excellent. Excellent. Mark, looking forward to getting you back out here. How long do you anticipate before you start receiving assays?

Mark Saxon: From what we're seeing with surface samples, it's about four to five weeks is the turnaround at the moment. So we're now in the drill season. There's lots of companies working and submitting samples. So yeah, let's say something closer to five than four, I'd be guessing.

Gerardo Del Real: Excellent. Mark, always a pleasure. Excited to see what Mother Nature has left behind to start getting a peek at that. I think it's going to be a treat to get that on two projects, not just the one, two targets, right?

Mark Saxon: Yeah. No, looking forward to it and we'll have good news flow.

Gerardo Del Real: Awesome.

Mark Saxon: And that'll be coming up in the second half of the year.

Gerardo Del Real: Perfect. Mark, thank you so much.

Mark Saxon: Thanks, Gerardo. Chat soon.

Gerardo Del Real: Cheers.
