T2 Metals (TSX-V: TWO)(OTC: TWOSF) CEO Mark Saxon on High Grade Gold at Aurora and Drilling at Shanghai
Gerardo Del Real: This is Gerardo Del Real with Resource Stock Digest. Joining me today is the president and CEO of T2 Metals (TSX-V: TWO)(OTC: TWOSF), Mr. Mark Saxon. Mark, it's great to have you on. How are you today, sir?
Mark Saxon: Gerardo, doing pretty well. I have no complaints in life and I'm about to travel to Canada and head to the Yukon to see our project. So that's a big bonus.
Gerardo Del Real: Listen, we had a really nice bounce in the gold price, dipped below $4,400 briefly and turned right back around and it's closer to $4,500 now than it is $4,300. Perfect time for you to announce that you've discovered high grade gold and defined some new targets at the Aurora Gold Project in the Yukon. Can you provide the context of the news?
Mark Saxon: Yeah, absolutely. So I guess let's start from basic. So our Aurora project is in the Dawson Mining District in the Yukon. So that's really, I guess, a very famous mining district. And you think of the Klondike gold, I guess, is in that district as well. So there's a great history of gold mining and production in that region. We're about eight kilometers from the fairly recent discovery called ML of prospector metals. It's done really well. And so we've got a project there called Aurora that's a really large land package. It's about 10 to 12 kilometers long. It's five kilometers wide, had only ever a small handful of drill holes into it. So this is a really new project. We acquired the project and are earning in through an option with Shawn Ryan. And so certainly most Canadian geologists and explorers will know Shawn as a great prospector who has built an amazing career on his own discoveries and invests his own time and money. So this is one of Shawn's projects.
And so we're just finishing up now the summer program and we've had a field program that's been led by Shawn Ryan's son, Cal Ryan, who's a great young guy doing our sampling. And carrying on, I guess, from Shawn's legacy of really high quality samples, really understanding every single sample you take and making sure you're doing the best job you can. And in that sampling program, we've now got about half the sample assays back from the lab, and we've got some amazing values. So the highest value is 10 grams per tonne of gold in soil samples, which is exceptional. It is one of the highest samples I've ever seen in my life in a soil sample at 10 grams, but lots of fives and ones.
And in that data, we're seeing high arsenic, we're seeing high bismuth, we're seeing high antimony, we're seeing some copper and some silver. And that's defined in particular two really striking targets that are in interesting geology. They're in places that have never been sampled before. And these are the things that are going to set us up for the future, I think, on this project.
Gerardo Del Real: No, listen, assays are pending and we've known each other for quite some time now, Mark. My favorite way to add value is via the drill bit and via discovery. How did the drill program go? When are you anticipating publishing the first set of results?
Mark Saxon: Yeah, so we finished a drilling program about a week ago. So that was RAB drilling. So that's the shallow surface drilling and that was out there testing new surface targets. That rig is now on route to our Shanghai project and there will also be a diamond rig on the Shanghai project as well. So we've moved from Aurora and we've headed down to Shanghai to do drilling as well. So at the moment, turnaround time for labs coming out of the Yukon is probably four weeks, five weeks. And so yeah, we'll see news flow coming out the back of that, but we've got additional surface work that we've done at Aurora. We've got lots more cell geochemistry and soon we'll be moving into news flow coming out of Shanghai as well.
Gerardo Del Real: No, listen, that is incredibly, incredibly exciting. I am looking forward to the numbers. Conference season is among us. We have the Denver Gold Forum coming up. We have the Beaver Creek Precious Metals Summit. We have New Orleans in October. So there's going to be, I anticipate, a rush of news flow. And I think it's going to be one of the better exploration seasons for a lot of companies, including T2. There's some quality exploration work that's been going on in 2026 that I think is going to pay huge dividends. Any thought on that?
Mark Saxon: Yeah, absolutely. And you can add to that conference schedule Vancouver and Germany as well. And so yeah, Switzerland, Zurich, lots of places where we're getting the opportunity to talk about the work we're doing. And I guess for T2, we've always got the opportunity. We've got a great set of projects where we've got great people. We've got cash in the bank still, more than $6 million. We've got a really tight capital structure and about 60 million shares outstanding. And myself and family are the largest shareholders in that group. We've got really supportive shareholders out of Europe and North America and Australia. So yeah, the company really is positioned that as we get this news flow coming out and we show that we've got some of the best projects in the Yukon, then yeah, we're going to get a very substantial rewriting, I'm sure.
Gerardo Del Real: Looking forward to the numbers. Exciting times. Mark, thank you as always.
Mark Saxon: Thanks Gerardo. We'll see you soon. And thanks for the call.
Gerardo Del Real: All right. Chat soon.
