Exploration Insights' Brent Cook Feels Good About Juniors Again, Here’s Why

The gold sector has garnered attention lately as geopolitical tensions rose and investors continued to question the pace at which U.S. interest rates will rise. And, according to one famed geologist, the sector is likely to go up from here. Speaking with Kitco News Wednesday, Exploration Insights’ Brent Cook said even if he’s neutral on the price of gold, he sees potential for the junior mining space. ‘I’m surprised at how well gold has held up,’ he said. ‘But, what I’m really positive on is the interest I’m seeing in the gold sector, especially in the junior sector. I’m seeing a lot more money coming into exploration from major mining companies.’ Despite pressure earlier in the week, gold prices made a comeback Wednesday following the release of the latest Federal Reserve minutes, which were deemed dovish.
