From site visit to conference

This is your Resource Stock Digest editor Gerardo Del Real here with some Monday coffee talking points.

What are we looking for this week?

Well, a very busy September is here. We just got back from a very, very exciting and exhausting site visit. It was a spectacular trip, and I can't wait to share all of the details with you in the coming weeks.

I'm going to be watching to see if gold can hold that all-important US$2,500 level and break towards US$2,600 an ounce as I anticipate it to.

September is going to be an important month for the markets. The Fed should be pivoting here in short order… and I’m expecting some volatility ahead as nothing goes straight up.

But that US$2,500 level does indeed seem to be the new floor for gold, and ditto for silver at the US$28/oz level. I'm looking to see if silver can break above US$30 and then US$32 convincingly. It hasn’t been able to do that thus far… but it’ll be interesting to see what the rest of September brings.

Copper is looking quite strong at US$4.10 per pound. It was hovering right at that US$4 mark last week. I’m curious to see if the red metal can harness some of that upward momentum and make a break towards the US$4.15 to US$4.20 level.

Lithium and uranium equities continue to be oversold. Contrarians, this is a heck of an opportunity to load up on the best names at bargain basement prices. You should absolutely be taking the consolidation as an opportunity to be buying the dips.

I want to congratulate Perpetua Resources (TSX: PPTA)(NASDAQ: PPTA), formerly Midas Gold, on the announcement that it now has done all of the heavy lifting for its world-class Stibnite gold project in Idaho. The company should have the final Record of Decision by the end of the year.

Again, congrats to the PPTA team for getting the project across the finish line, which was far from an easy endeavor. I’ve been following the company for over a decade now… and it's great to see them finally push that project forward.

Good for the team, good for the state of Idaho, and good for mining.

Well folks, from site visit to mining conference… I’m presently off to the Beaver Creek Precious Metals Summit in beautiful Colorado where I have a number of face-to-face meetings and interviews set up.

Like I said… a very busy September! Have a great week, everyone.

Let's get it,

Gerardo Del Real
