This is Gerardo Del Real with the Resource Stock Digest weekly recap.
I hope everyone who celebrates had a great a Christmas. Lots going on so let’s get to it.
Gold closed at $1,260 an ounce last week, a 5-month high and a rally I actually believe may have some legs.
Silver picked up five cents and settled at $14.58/oz.
The Dollar settled at 97.03, down from 97.67 last week.
Copper settled at $2.71/lb. for a weekly loss of 2.5%.
Platinum reached a 10-yr. low and settled at $787 an ounce, picking up two dollars.
Palladium settled at $1,213/oz. for a weekly loss of 0.8%.
Zinc lost another two cents, settling at $1.16/lb.
Oil was down 11.5%, settling at $45.35/barrel.
Uranium was flat for the week and settled at $28.63/lb.
Skyharbour Resources (TSX-V: SYH) CEO Jordan Trimble went over the latest set of high-grade results from the flagship Moore uranium project. Jordan also did an excellent job of providing his take on the uranium space going into 2019.
Sun Metals (TSX-V: SUNM) CEO Steve Robertson recapped a successful 2018 and outlined the plan moving forward in 2019.
Shortly after our interview, it was announced that Teck had acquired 12.5 million shares. A vote of confidence that bodes well for the company moving forward.
Azucar Minerals (TSX-V: AMZ) CEO Morgan Poliquin explained the latest set of results at the El Cobre project in Veracruz, Mexico. He went on to detail the potential at depth and the exciting 2019 exploration season.
That’s all for this week, heck that’s all for this year. I want to thank all of our sponsors, who allow us to provide you with exclusive insights and content at no cost to you.
I believe 2018 will be looked at as the last great buying opportunity in the commodity space.
It’s been a tough year for those of us that make our living sharing ideas in the junior resource space. But this space is cyclical, the upside is always worth it if you stick it out, and frankly other than playing baseball for the Chicago Cubs, there’s nothing else I’d rather be doing.
Have a great New Year everyone.
