Silver Hammer: Drilling Below Historic Mine Workings in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho

Silver Hammer Mining Corp. (CSE: HAMR)(OTC: HAMRF) — currently trading around C$0.80 per share — is advancing the flagship, past-producing Silver Strand Mine in the Coeur d’Alene Mining District, Idaho.

The project is composed of 70 claims covering a 5.5 km strike length atop the Revett formation — a highly productive, district-scale silver belt.

Silver Hammer has commenced an initial drill program at the Silver Strand Mine project to test for silver-gold mineralization immediately below the mine’s lowest level, which currently extends to just 90 meters below surface.

Importantly, the Coeur d’Alene Mining District — which boasts historic production of over 1.2 billion ounces of silver — lays host to some of the world’s largest silver mines with production down to nearly 2,000 meters. Hence, the Silver Hammer team is primed and excited to test for extensions of mineralization at-depth.

On the personnel front, last week, the company appointed former Silver Standard [now SSR Mining] chief geologist and VP Exploration, Ron Burk, to its board of directors. Silver Hammer CEO, Morgan Lekstrom — whom you’re about to hear from directly — had this to say via press release:

“The addition of Ron Burk as a board member adds additional depth to our technical team as we advance the Company’s portfolio of high-potential, high-grade, past-producing western US silver assets, including the Silver Stand Mine in Idaho and the Eliza Silver Project and Silverton Mine in Nevada. Mr. Burk’s extensive experience, including nearly a decade in senior roles for a major silver-focused mining company, Silver Standard, is invaluable as we grow and advance our portfolio of US silver projects.”

Newly-listed, yet highly experienced, Silver Hammer offers speculators exposure to the junior precious metals exploration space via multiple North American projects, including the aforementioned flagship in Idaho plus the Eliza and Silverton silver projects, Nevada, and the Lacy gold project, British Columbia, Canada.

Our own Gerardo Del Real of Junior Resource Monthly caught up with Silver Hammer  CEO, Morgan Lekstrom, for an in-depth discussion on all-things Silver Hammer. Enjoy!
